Meet Dr. Stefan Szczerba

Dr. Stefan Szczerba (pronounced Sher-ba) is double board-certified in general and plastic surgery. He completed his Cosmetic Fellowship at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, and his Plastic Surgery Fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta. His general surgery residency was completed at Northwestern, which he attended after earning his medical degree from Rush Medical College. He has authored articles for medical journals and textbooks, and taught medical students at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Szczerba is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Szczerba has been named a “TOP” doctor by realself.com, an honor which is earned by the top 10% of ASPS members. He has been named a Patients’ Choice Award winner every year from 2012 to the current year, and has been recognized by Castle Connolly as a Top Doctor.

Board-Certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Philip Straka is recognized as one of the top breast implant removal surgeons in the country, being one of only a small number of surgeons who have been performing en bloc breast implant removal surgery for over 25 years. His practice focuses exclusively on the treatment of those who desire removal of their breast implants for both medical and aesthetic reasons. Dr. Straka provides compassionate care for those patients suffering from Breast Implant Illness (BII) and he is experienced and dedicated to complete capsulectomy and en bloc removal.

Located right across the street from the airport (making us easily accessible to out–of–town patients), the Chicago Aesthetic Surgery Institute and DaySpa facilities were designed with patient safety and comfort in mind. Our 5,000 square foot facility features two state-of-the-art plastic surgery operating suites, two minor procedure rooms, a hair restoration suite, a laser treatment room and three exam rooms. We are accredited by The Joint Commission, which is the same organization responsible for accrediting hospitals.

We employ board-certified anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists to administer medication to keep our patients calm and comfortable during treatment. The person who administers the medication remains on-hand during the procedure to monitor the patient’s vitals and ensure their safety.
