Sciton Contour TRL laser, is the gold standard for deep laser skin resurfacing. It is best for deeply wrinkles or damaged skin. This procedure treats 100% of the skin’s surface (as opposed to a fraction of the surface or ‘fractionated’ laser), resulting in smoother, tighter skin and dramatic improvement in wrinkles, texture, and skin tone. This laser treatment is often combined with surgical procedures or be provided as a stand-alone treatment.
Typically, treatment time is 2 hours, and includes general or local anesthetic. Full field resurfacing has a long recovery or down time, typically 4-6 weeks. You will see noticeable results in 4 weeks but full recovery can take up to 1 year. Usually, one treatment is needed. As with all laser treatments, excessive sun exposure should be avoided and sunscreen with an SPF of 50 should be used at all times. Any history of skin disorders, cold sores, keloid or hypertrophic scars are potential contraindications to laser. Any treatment performed with oral anesthetic requires the patient have a ride home (not UBER of taxi).
